The fascia and loose connective tissue between the fascial layers serve to cushion and protect a nerve as it passes through an area, while also facilitating pain free movement of the nerve. In this publication the research team at the University of Padova, Italy, demonstrated such a relationship between the musculocutaneous nerve of the arm and the surrounding connective tissue.
