FMID Combo Bridge

Comparing trunk to a bridge

In the FMID® model the trunk can be compared to a bridge.  In the picture on the left, this incomplete bridge would collapse under the weight of the cars.  The upright pylons need more support, as in the bridge on the right.  Such support comes from the tensors, which equate to the upper and lower limbs.  All concepts and photos used with permission from Dr. Carla Stecco, MD.
