Thanksgiving Blessings to All!

I bet I’m not the only one saying, “I can’t believe it’s already this time of year again!” For my husband, Bill and me it’s been a busy year filled with personal and professional happenings. Forefront in my mind are two major events: First, Bill, after 47 years of patient care, finally stopped evaluating and treating patients and now focuses on overseeing the operations of all four APT offices – not really retirement but it’s a start. Secondly, perhaps in anticipation of a bit more free time for hobbies such as hunting, Bill became the proud owner of Lizzie, a wirehaired pointing griffon. Bill loves developing her natural instincts to point and retrieve. I love that she doesn’t shed.

For my part, I am thankful to be healthy and able to continue growing in my work with patients, fascia, and teaching. I love what I do and am so thankful to be able to do it! I am thankful for all the people God sends our way and the changes I get to witness in people’s lives. I find it very rewarding, and also challenging. Nothing gets to me more than someone who is not responding to my care. But it makes me fortify myself, do my very best with what I know at that moment, and keep digging to learn more for the next moment. Thank you to all of you who patiently work with me and trust me. I truly am blessed by all of you!

I’m also thankful for the new boots that I’m going to get to replace the ones that dear Lizzie chewed up. Of course, they were my favorites…..

Wishing you all a very happy and healthy Thanksgiving!

I am a physiotherapist, graduate of Saint Louis University Class of 1984. I married my best friend and business partner, Bill, who is also a physiotherapist, in 1988. We have worked together all these years - an example of God's grace! Together we started Appalachian Physical Therapy which continues to thrive. I am a big believer in the power of touch, the manual therapies, and treating holistically. There are many alternatives to medications, surgeries, and testing, but people are often uninformed. My perspective emphasizes the role of the connective tissues including the fascia. Lack of attention to this structure is the source of many physical ailments - our bodies are truly fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139)! I am passionate about helping people of all ages and diagnoses maximize their health, and empowering them to understand their role in management and prevention of problems.
